 Store your soap away from continuous exposure to water. The natural glycerin and lack of synthetic additives will make handmade soap turn to mush if left in standing water. It is best to store your soap on a soap dish that raises the bar so that air can circulate around the entire bar. This process will allow the soap to dry between uses, thus extending the life span of the bar.
